Sapora respects your privacy and takes special care when handling information relating to children.
1. Scope
This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use the Platform or access resources on our website.
We comply with the Privacy Act 2020.

4. Why We Collect Information
We collect information to:
- operate and improve the Platform,
- provide educational tools and content,
- manage accounts and subscriptions,
- send homeschooling resources to parents who join our free-resources list,
- meet legal and security obligations.
5. Children's Information
- We collect children's information only with parental involvement.
- We minimise collection and avoid unnecessary identifiers.
- Parents may access, correct, or request deletion at any time.
6. Disclosure to Third Parties
We use trusted third-party service providers (such as hosting, AI APIs, and payment processors).
Email addresses submitted to our free-resources list are stored and managed via MailerLite, our email marketing provider. MailerLite acts as a data processor on our behalf. MailerLite may store email addresses on servers outside New Zealand; this is addressed under §7.
These providers are required to handle information in a manner consistent with this Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.
7. Overseas Storage and Processing
Personal information may be stored or processed outside New Zealand using trusted service providers. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients protect information in a manner consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
9. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Platform or meet legal obligations.
When you cancel your subscription, we retain your account data for 90 days. During that window, you can resume your subscription and your children pick up where they left off. After 90 days, your data is permanently deleted.
Email addresses on our free-resources list are held until you unsubscribe. On unsubscribe, your address is removed from active mailing. We may retain a suppression record for a reasonable period to ensure we do not contact you again.
Parents may request deletion of child profiles at any time.
10. Access and Correction
You have the right to:
- access your information,
- request correction,
- make a privacy complaint.

11. Future International Users
If we expand internationally, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in line with overseas privacy regimes.

13. Marketing Emails and Your Choices
When you enter your email address to access a gated free resource on our website, you are joining our free-resources list.
What you'll receive: occasional homeschooling resources by email. We do not share this list or use it for any purpose other than sending you those resources.
How to unsubscribe: every email from us includes an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from our mailing list. Unsubscribing does not affect your ability to access resources you have already downloaded.
